I have a lousy Journeyman loge from maybe 2006. It's unspeakable, but it's what I undergo. To drop money happening the steering column and brakes for the truck, I bear to deal. Fresh, this happened. What's the hot fine to fix it? No bungee cords operating theatre canal tape allowed.

Just those drawers, and all concurrently. Can the rail be replaced? I ignoramus.

Temporarily try and find something to tilt the box rearwards?  The shorts will skid back instead of out?

I think the rails can be replaced, but I oasis't looked into it.

Are those roller bearing slides or the folded steel channels?

If you can unload information technology a drawer at a time and get the drawers out, you could bend the channels spinal column into shape. Thats what I did with my old boxful.

Yours kind of looks same it has ball bearing slides, only maybe the same problem is happening?

Find someone unloading a cheap file and salvage the slides. They're often three leg slides but removing unitary is unhurried adequate

Call craftsman and you should personify fit to buy new slides.

I have the exact same box in red and it's the endure objet d'art of craftsman dog E36 M3 that I'll ever buy.

The boxers are sliding out because of the plastic/rubber detent has dead isolated. They look equivalent this:

If you contact craftsman they testament tell you to reach out to Battle of Waterloo Industries, who manufacturers the box. Waterloo will tell you that they trade the individual slides to you for 20$ each but don't sell the detents. That's because they father't actually make the slides either, they buy them from a Chinese provider who barely has a internet site and never answers emails.

Later on few hours of googling you'll find this Thomas Nelson Page-https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3582007 which is a file that you can send someone so they can just 3d print a bunch of these things and mail them to you. The 3d printed ones kindof-sortof piece of work because the 3d printed textile doesn't quite provide the Lapplander rubbing. If my toolbox lid wasn't snowy with my sticker compendium I would throw scrapped the whole despicable pile. I will cash in one's chips angry about this.

Thanks for doing the homework for me, even if the result stinks.

We had Vidmar boxes at crop, the early models did that.  Tardive ones had a trigger you had to energy in order to expressed a drawer.  They fixed the crude models away pinning a 1" X 2" piece of flat stock on the frame to the right of the draftsman.  Each 1X2 had a trifle tab pointed straight come out of the closet.  To open a drawer you flick the tab down, oncoming the 1 X 2 90 degrees allowing the drawer to open.

This for sure would be easier if I constitute a picture .....

How about finding drawer slides that fit?

drawer slides

It didn't survive one weekend of soft wheeling, the drawers weren't o'er loaded, and it was strapped consume thusly IT wasn't bouncing around.  Ripped one drawer slide off the box, ripped another off a drawer, and one of the latches broke.

I've been debating buying new drawer slides for information technology, or just scrapping it.

Past you have to ask round yourself, operating room I suffice myself, is IT worthy turning my firearm of garbage $60 tool box into a $100 project?

May be better off to cut hook and hit up FB Market Place for something improved.

Other if you're antimonopoly deficient something to serve keep the drawers shut, you could stick something like these roller catches on the boldness of the box frame to catch up the drawers and hold them closed.

Hang toolbox lid on the wall to save collection and bargain a new box?

Stefan (Forum Supporter)

First step (IMO) would be to ensure it is level front to dorsum to keep drawers from sliding open or closed when you don't want it to.

Second, if you want the bumpers printed, I and others here can do that and drop it in the mail to you.  Let US know how many you want/postulate and the wanted incarnate.

Third, if you replace the slides completely, then you shouldn't suffer any promote issues.

I had to make this on a couple of drawers for our new sleeping room set, the slides weren't made in good order and the ball bearings fell out and the plastic cages for them also failed.  New slides had metal cages and major tolerances (I pulled the others down and squeezed them unneurotic in a bench vise to assistance fasten them up and they've been fine ever since).

Fourth, I have that same setup (in red) with the mid-boxful and I've not had any issues with the drawers that weren't self-inflicted.
